Virginia Wing is Alice Merida Richards and Sam Pillay. Previously a trio, the wholly inventive duo have unveiled a new piece of industrial electro-pop in the shape of 'ESP Offline'. With its twitching, subtly uneasy hue the cut triggers along with the sparkling out-there-ness of Anna Meredith, while bringing to mind the mesmerising power of Vaults. “I started thinking about the human body, health, degeneration, decay, that sort of thing”, explains Pillay. “The symptoms would often come in spells, so I liked the idea of loosely replicating that feeling with the music." It's a feeling that's working as Virginia Wing's forthcoming LP, due 11 November, is a mouth-watering prospect. -G.O'B
